How to earn Good Karma at Yoga Class
At Calgary's Yoga Studio Sarana, we believe that Yoga should be accessible by everyone, within a safe, friendly and welcoming environment ! To ensure the best possible experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you:
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class is scheduled to start ...or 20 if you need to make payments, fill out forms etc.
REMOVE YOUR SHOES
Since we walk around the studio barefoot, it is most hygienic, and courteous, if everyone takes off their shoes upon entering.
TURN OFF YOUR PHONE
A yoga studio is a sanctuary of peace and calm. Help us maintain that by turning off your cell phone.
LEAVE VALUABLES AT HOME
Lost and Missing items make everyone unhappy. Please leave them at Home.
Whether you're a beginner or an advanced yogi, dress lightly in loose, clean and comfortable clothing.
Proper breathing is an integral part of yoga. Strong scents can make this unmanageable, especially for those with sensitivities.
RESPECT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Even if your practice is Advanced, work within the pace of the class, and follow your teacher’s instructions.
Yoga is a time of inviting stillness and being present. Be mindful about others meditative and calming approaches.
While water is permitted, aroma's, noise and crumbs from snacks can be a distraction. Please keep them in the waiting area.
RESPECT OTHER'S SPACE
Learn your spatial boundaries when performing all movements, being mindful of your neighbors and all those around you.
CLEAN UP & WIPE DOWN
Cleaning up after yourself, and putting things away doesn't take long. Trust us, it is always greatly appreciated.
THANK YOUR TEACHER
Few things in life are as quick, free and easy as a compliment. If you were pleased with your class, let them know.
Everyone will Thank-You !!!
As a new student, there may seem to be lots of ‘rules' to follow. Please know that these are for the benefit of everyone, and you will come to appreciate them as you develop in your practice. See you in the room!
